A Little Update

Daddy and Levi playing with his new toy from Nana.
(pre-turban removal)

Today they did a lumbar puncture and an MRI to try to determine the cause of the seizures and we haven't heard from them yet other than that they did see some abnormalities in his brain function.  We should find out, tomorrow, what they feel is causing the seizures and how they would like to treat them.  Of course, this could be a difficult prognosis so I'm hoping for the good news but preparing, mentally, for bad news.

Depending on how they want to manage the seizures, I suppose it is possible that we could go home tomorrow????  But, it's hard to tell.  I don't know that I'm ready to go home, anyway.  I just don't feel qualified to care for a toddler with seizures.  I guess that's my latest struggle, but this too shall pass.  It has to.  I have to move on some time, right? And, God is in charge!

  1. Sister, you and J are the only one's who can care for your sons as perfectly as you. I believe there is grace for the two of you to know how to do what needs to be done for Levi and Toby. We love you all... You know you're in our hearts when when I cry reading the bad parts AND the good parts!

  2. Keira,
just wanted to let you know that you are in mine and Ian's prayers. I just read all your posts at once and was overwhelmed by what you guys have gone through over the last weeks. I was so happy to get to the good news part! I know God will give you and Jeremiah all the strength and wisdom you need to carry you through this. The verse that I really clung to this past year when we went through some rough times was Romans 8:31 "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" Ian and I will be interceding for your family.

  3. Torrey's urologist always said that nobody knows their baby like their momma. Nobody is better qualified then you to take care of your baby. Remember when you asked God to show the doctor's what was going on with Levi - and it happened. You knew what was right for your baby and you acted on it without much conscious thought at all. You will do fine - just rely on your mommy instincts. They are, after all, given to us from the only perfect parent. When it is time for you to take him home, you will find out just how strong you are and how dependent on God you are. God would not have given you this opportunity if He had not known that you would be able to handle it.

  4. Thanks!! And thanks for the reminder that this really is an opportunity!

  5. you are everything he needs . take it from a mama that has done this sometimes your love can fix things meds can't I love u... and I am here to stay help clean anything.... I love u Levi and family.
